Burial's surprise new record accidentally sold during Black Friday mayhem
Electronic enigma Burial has a new 12" titled Young Death - it went on sale early at least one record store and spoiled the surprise.
Fortunately, if you didn't get one on Friday, you can hear the whole thing online now.
Toronto's Sonic Boom Records confirmed to Pitchfork that the new record was available during the Black Friday sales.
"[The box the records came in] said ‘artist/title,’” said Sonic Boom's Blair Whatmore to Pitchfork. “We assumed it was a Black Friday secret listing. It wasn’t really clear to us that we weren’t supposed to be selling it."
Hyperdub were reportedly a bit miffed that the LP was sold early.
As you might expect, the disc was promptly plonked on Discogs - the Hyperdub-released 12" features two new songs, "Young Death" and "Nightmarket". You can hear it above, and grab the digital edition on Bandcamp.
