Buffy Sainte-Marie beats Drake and Alvvays to Polaris Prize glory
Buffy Sainte-Marie has won this year's Polaris Music Prize for her record Power In The Blood.
74-year-old legend Sainte-Marie beat off competition from Caribou, Drake, Alvvays, and Tobias Jesso Jr to be crowned Canadian Album Of The Year winner at a ceremony in Toronto.
Sainte-Marie can now add the coveted gong to her trophy cabinet - she's already won an Academy Award, Junos, a Golden Globe, a Gemini, and more.
The shortlist, below, was originally cut down from 40 longlisted nominees.

Tanya Tagaq took last year's prize home for her LP Animism, making this the second year in a row that a Native Canadian artist has won the prize.
All shortlisted artists were awarded $3,000, with eventual winner Sainte-Marie taking home $50,000 as the main prize.
