Bucks Fizz member Jay Aston to stand as Brexit Party MP
Jay Aston, the former singer of Bucks Fizz, has been chosen as a parliamentary candidate for the Brexit Party.
As the BBC reports, Jay Aston Colquhounis will campaign to become an MP in the London seat of Kensington, currently held by Labour.
Party leader Nigel Farage confirmed Jay Aston's place in the Brexit Party as one of 635 approved candidates.
The singer said, "I want to stand for the Brexit Party and fight to uphold democracy for the sake of the people."
She added, "As an MP, I will work to rebuild trust and help the Brexit Party make the necessary reforms to unite the country after we break free of the European Union."
Bucks Fizz won the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1981.
Last year, the singer underwent surgery to treat mouth cancer.
