BTS fans match band's $1million donation to Black Lives Matter
BTS' ARMY fans united to match the group's $1million donation to Black Lives Matter over the weekend.
On Saturday (6 June), Variety reported that BTS and their Big Hit Entertainment label had donated $1million to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Following news of BTS' donation, their ARMY fans decided to join forces to try and match their donation amount, and they did it in just 24 hours.
Last night (7 June) it was announced that BTS' fans had passed the $1million target. They raised $1,007,518 from 34,596 donors.
Just like BTS, we were able to donate 1M dollars to help fund:

bailouts for those arrested for protesting police brutality
black-led advocacy orgs fighting against systemic injustice
support for the physical and mental health of the black commmunity
K-pop fans have really united during the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests over the past few weeks. Just last week they bombarded the #WhiteLivesMatter hashtag on Twitter with fancam videos to drown out the racist posts.
They also spammed the Dallas police iWatch app with fancam videos to help protesters protect their identity. The Dallas police department were requesting videos of "illegal activity from the protests", and the app was soon taken down due to "technical difficulties".
