Bros fans aren't happy about their homecoming show prices
Bros, the brother band that delivered comedy gold in the form of a Spinal Tape-esque documentary before Christmas, are set to play a homecoming show at London's O2 Academy Brixton, but fans aren't happy about the prices.
Just before Chritstmas, Bros released their new documentary After The Screaming Stops, which was labelled "comedy gold" by multiple viewers, and has since allowed them to announce a homecoming show.
News of their comeback show at London's O2 Academy Brixton (even though they're from Camberley) has been met with backlash after fans were asked to part ways with triple digits to get their hands on a Bros ticket.
The Facebook page advertising the concert has become a honey pot for angry Bros fans who refuse to pay over £100 for a standing ticket at the venue. One user commented, "£106 to stand at Brixton or £150 to sit up stairs. You are having a laugh. I think the screaming is about to stop again lads."
Another fan wrote an open letter in response to the ticket prices. One snippet reads, "How dare you? I’m not being tight but I simply can’t afford to go. £106.50 for a standing ticket at the Brixton Academy? How do you justify that? Sure there will be fake fans, touts or entitled Princesses that will be able to afford that, too blind to realise they’re being ripped off, but for every one of them there will be 50 that can’t afford it. Your 2017 concerts prove that you could easily sell out larger venues and keeping the tickets to a fraction of the cost, within the price range of most. You’re effectively putting 90% of your UK fan base out for greed."
In response to asking fans to pay £106 to stand and £150 to sit, Luke Goss from Bros has uploaded a response on socials, which states, "Brixton Academy is the only venue we will be playing in the UK this summer."
On their excessive ticket prices, the duo offer, "EVERY PERSON will receive a signed BROS COMING HOME poster as well as 250 randomly selected winners who will be invited to join us at the sound check."
