Broken Social Scene detail new LP and share title track "Hug Of Thunder"
Broken Social Scene have detailed new album Hug Of Thunder and shared the title track - a collaboration with Feist.
Joe Chiccarelli produces the album, Broken Social Scene's first since 2010 record Forgiveness Rock Record.
Expansive ode "Hug Of Thunder" is the second preview of the record following lead cut "Halfway Home". It boasts floaty, Cocteau Twins-style dream pop motifs and harmonies that fizzle away into the ether, as well as locomotive basslines and relentless percussion.
All 15 original members of bustling Canadian collective have worked on the record, with Kevin Drew, John Crossingham, Brendan Canning, Sam Goldberg, Charles Spearin, Justin Peroff, Leslie Feist, Andrew Whiteman, Emily Haines, Evan Cranley, Amy Millan, Jimmy Shaw, Lisa Lobsinger, David French, Ohad Benchetrit, and Jason Collett all involved. New guest vocalist Ariel Engle also contributes.
Last year the Canadian stalwarts made a live return in the UK and debuted a new cut live in Paris. Broken Social Scene tour the UK and Europe from this month - find full details on brokensocialscene.ca.
