Watch Broadside Hacks cover The Watersons for Best Fit’s secret sessions at End of the Road
Broadside Hacks, a London-based collective founded by Sorry's Campbell Baum during lockdown, performed a cover of The Watersons' version of the traditional English song "Adieu Adieu (The Flash Lad)" for Best Fit's secret sessions at last year's End of the Road Festival, and it's available to watch in full now.
Last month the collective delivered their first outing of 2022 "Barbry Allen", a new take on a traditional folk ballad which featured contributions from Naima Bock, Campbell Baum, Aga Ujma and others. The release followed their September 2021 compilation Songs Without Authors Vol.1.
Broadside Hacks will play Brighton's One Church on 14 May as part of The Great Escape 2022 before appearing at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival on 22 May.
Best Fit's secret sessions have become a key part of End of the Road each year, bringing together artists from across the line-up in a series of short sets, exclusive cover, collaborations, and live interviews and Q&As. Past guests have included Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Moses Sumney, Alex Cameron, Laura Marling, Patti Smith, and Frightened Rabbit - who played a now iconic version of "The Modern Leper".
