The 1975, Little Mix, David Bowie and Rag 'N' Bone Man win at this year's BRIT Awards

At a slightly sombre ceremony tearful tributes were paid to George Michael, with Coldplay's Chris Martin performing Michael's 1986 number one hit "A Different Corner". The 1975 gave a career-high performance before winning the gong for Best British Group and Stormzy popped up for the live debut of the remix of Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You".
