Britney Spears hints at Oprah interview and speaks about post-conservatorship life in new video
In a new video on socials, Britney Spears speaks about how her life has changed since her 13-year conservatorship was fully terminated last week, and also hints that an interview with Oprah might be on the cards.
Last Friday (12 November) Britney Spears' conservatorship was brought to an end after 13 years, allowing her to take back control of her life and finances.
In a new video posted to socials yesterday (16 November), Spears discussed her recent freedom, and how it's "the little things" that make "a huge difference". She also thanked the #FreeBritney movement, and hinted in the caption that an Oprah interview could be coming in the future.
"I’ve been in a conservatorship for 13 years. It’s a really a long time to be in a situation you don’t want to be in," Spears explained. "So I’m just grateful, honestly, for each day and being able to have the keys to my car, and being able to be independent and feel like a woman. Owning an ATM card, seeing cash for the first time, being able to buy candles. It’s the little things for us women but it makes a huge difference, and I'm grateful for that. It's nice. It's really nice."
Addressing the #FreeBritney movement, Spears said, "You guys rock. My voice was muted and threatened for so long, and I wasn't able to speak up or say anything, and because of you guys and the awareness of kind of knowing what was going on and delivering that news to the public for so long ... because of you I honestly think you guys saved my life in a way. 100%."
Spears also hinted at a potential Oprah interview in the video caption: "I might as well do a hint of my thoughts here before I go and set things square on Oprah."

In her Instagram post caption, Spears added, "I do know how embarrassing is to share the fact I’ve never seen cash or wasn’t able to drive my car …. but honestly it still blows my mind every day I wake up how my family and the conservatorship were able to do what they did to me … it was demoralizing and degrading !!!! I’m not even mentioning all the bad things they did to me which they should all be in jail for … yes including my church going mother !!!!"
