Brian Wilson announces last ever Pet Sounds shows
Brian Wilson has announced a final tour of seminal Beach Boys record Pet Sounds as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.
The 1966 album, which turns 50 on 16 May, will be performed across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, and Japan.
This includes a previously announced set at Barcelona's Primavera Sound Festival.
Former bandmates Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin will join Wilson and his band during the tour, which will see Pet Sounds performed in full, as well as "top hits and fan favourites spannin his 54-year career with The Beach Boys and as a solo artist."
Speaking about the tour, Wilson says: “It’s really been a trip to sit here and think about releasing Pet Sounds 50 years ago. I love performing this album with my band and look forward to playing it for fans all across the world.”
2015 saw the release of No Pier Pressure, Wilson's latest album.
Presales for most shows begin 27 January, with general sale on 29 January.
