Brass Against cover of Rage Against The Machine's "Wake Up" closes The Matrix Resurrections
The Matrix Resurrections, which arrived in UK cinemas today (22 December) ends with the Brass Against cover of Rage Against The Machine's "Wake Up".
Like the original 1999 The Matrix film, The Matrix Resurrections closes with Rage Against The Machine's "Wake Up", but instead of using the original version for the latest film, The Guardian reports that Lana Wachowski chose the Brass Against cover.
The Matrix Resurrections marks the first major release to use a Brass Against song since the group's singer Sophia Urista urinated on a fan's face during their Welcome to Rockville festival performance in November.
Last month, Urista apologised for the incident on socials, writing, "I have always pushed the limits in music and on stage. That night, I pushed the limits too far."
While she added that she's not a "shock artist" in her apology, it's possible that Wachowski's choice of song in The Matrix Resurrections could be a shock to Urista.
