Brad Pitt and Damien Quintard to reopen legendary French recording studio in summer 2022
Miraval Studios, known for hosting The Cure, Pink Floyd and more, will be reopened in summer next year by Brad Pitt and Damien Quintard.
Since 2006, Miraval Studios has been inactive, but after beinng renovated by Brad Pitt and Damien Quintard (Arca, Brian Eno, Gaspard Augé), the historic recording studio that's hosted The Cure, Pink Floyd, Courtney Love, AC/DC, Super Furry Animals, The Cranberries and many more, will reopen in summer 2022.
Miraval Studios is located at Château Miraval, France, which has been co-owned by Pitt since 2008, and the renovated space is, according to Pitchfork, "built around a custom sound desk designed by Pitt and Quintard."
Quintard said of Pitt in a statement, "When we met in Paris, we immediately clicked. It was an intense moment where we just talked and talked about sound. I was amazed at how sensitive and precise he was in his analysis of music."
