Blur bassist Alex James confirms band have recorded new music
Last month, Blur played a show in Hong Kong and, with their previously-planned gigs in Japan cancelled, decided to stick around and try to record an album.
Speaking at the time, frontman Damon Albarn told the live crowd: “We have a week in Hong Kong, and we thought it would be a good time to try and record another record.” And now bandmate Alex James has confirmed that they did indeed lay down some new material.
”We had a few days off in Hong Kong and thought, ‘What the hell, let’s go to the studio.’ It went very well. The opportunity came and we took it. Any chance to get together and make music is very welcome,” he recently told BANG Showbiz. “It was absolutely brilliant. We were just jamming, but it was good. I hope happens.”
The record would be the band’s first in a decade, following on from 2003′s Think Tank.
