Blood Orange releases new record Freetown Sound
Blood Orange - aka pop auteur Dev Hynes - has released his long-awaited new record Freetown Sound.
Speaking abou Freetown Sound, Hynes says: "I have just finished making an album about my life, my upbringing, being black in England, being black in America… my movement to this country at the age of 21, the same age that my mother moved from Guyana to London, and my father from Sierra Leone to London. Freetown Sound, the name of my album, is taken from Freetown where my father was born.”
A deluxe version of the album is available, and comes with a bonus 10" featuring non-album tracks “Do You See My Skin Through The Flames?” and “Sandra’s Smile”.
Hynes will play a range of Blood Orange shows this summer in support of the LP, including a set at BST Hyde Park with Florence and The Machine and Kendrick Lamar. We're giving away tickets to the show - find out more.
Freetown Sound is out now. The album follows 2013's Cupid Deluxe.
