Blondage share hyperactive breakup track "Call It Off" ahead of European tour
Danish synthpop duo Blondage have pulled the ripcord on "Call It Off", a new single which arrives as they embark on a European tour.
The track from Blondage, formerly known as Rangleklods, follows fellow 2017 offerings "Stoned" and "BOSS".
"'Call It Off' is in many ways a mystery to us," says the pair's Pernille Smith-Sivertsen. "We feel like we've written a pretty sad breakup song, but then it leaves you with a sensation of hope and urge to break free and freak out on the dancefloor instead of feeling sorry for yourself. To me it's because of the constant switch between melancholia and a hyper, bubbling energy."
"There are elements in this song that really shouldn't blend well together; lullaby melodies, rave-like samples, epic string arrangements and fast, cheeky vocal hooks," Blondage's other half Esben Nørskov Andersen adds. "But I guess that's what we love about this song. It has an energy you can't ignore."
Blondage kick off a European tour tonight, playing a string of dates in their home nation before jetting to the UK for a London date. Find out more.
