Blanck Mass unveils "anti-macho pop songs about a pair of walking hardons"
Blanck Mass - aka Benjamin John Power of Fuck Buttons - has shared "Odd Scene" and "Shit Luck", the songs from his new Record Store Day 12".
The new tracks follow Power's 2017 LP World Eater and instead of pummelling electronics and rapid-fire beats, we get deathly howls, thrash-punk drums, and grisly metal hooks.
"I grew up playing in punk and hardcore bands so this is no new venture for me, but perhaps as far as Blanck Mass released material goes 'Odd Scene'/'Shit Luck' might be the snottiest," Power says in a statement. "Here we have a couple of anti-macho pop songs about a pair of walking hardons I surreptitiously observed at a truck stop whilst I was out touring last year."
Late last year Power's Fuck Buttons bandmate Andrew Hung released his own solo record - Realisationship. No word on if Hung and Power are getting back together as Fuck Buttons any time soon - they both seem to be fairly busy with their own (great) things so probably not, but work is definitely underway on a new album.
