Black Thought, Elvis Costello, DJ Premier and more form new supergroup Dopamine
Black Thought has revealed he's formed a new supergroup called Dopamine with Elvis Costello, DJ Premier and more.
The Roots' Black Thought spoke about Dopamine on The Crate 808 Hip Hop Podcast, revealing he's been making music with Dopamine bandmates Elvis Costello, DJ Premier, T-Bone Burnett, Nathaniel Rateliff and Cassandra Wilson.
Brooklyn Vegan notes that T-Bone Burnett was the one who put together Dopamine.
While speaking about Dopamine on The Crate 808 Hip Hop Podcast, Black Thought described the project as "just a really unusual sort of motley crew." He added, "You know we’ve been recording this project that’s tentatively being called Dopamine. It’s helmed by T-Bone Burnett…We come up with some stuff that’s mostly live instrumentation and Premier is right there and he takes it and chops it up and we’ve been working in that capacity."
There's currently no indication as to when Dopamine willl release music.
