Björk's Biophilla app now available on Android
The Biophilia app that combines Björk’s album with lessons in science is now available on Android phones and tablets for the first time.
The app has been readily available on iOS for well over a year and after a Kickstarter project to release the app on Android was pulled, Apportable stepped in to create the app, now available at the price of £8.99.
“Björk’s vision of the ‘Biophilia’ app has always been for it to be available as widely as possible, and Android is an important factor for this,” said a message on the Björk’s website. “Initially, we tried Kickstarter, but then this amazing company called Apportable approached us and said they’d love to take on the project.”
San Francisco based start-up Apportable enable iOS apps to be converted to android much faster and cheaper than what was available before.
“Just as it broke new ground for interactive music apps with its original iOS release, Biophilia is breaking the boundaries of cross-platform mobile development as the first-ever Objective-C music app on Android,” said Apportable CEO Collin Jackson.
