Björk takes Biophilia to Iceland Airwaves
Björk’s new ‘Biophilia’ live show, exhibition and educational program has been confirmed for this year’s Iceland Airwaves Festival.
The Reykjavík-based event will see six special shows from the Icelandic singer, performing new songs from the upcoming Biophilia studio album in addition to songs from her 20+ year back catalogue.
The show will feature a range of specially conceived and crafted instruments and Graduale Nobili – a choir of 24 girls – and a host of collaborators will accompany Björk.
The exhibition demonstrates the visuals, sounds and viruses of the world of Biophilia and will run from 10-28 October in Harpa – Reykjavík Concert Hall.
The Biophilia shows will take places on these dates
12 & 16 October: Iceland Airwaves (Harpa – Reykjavík Concert Hall)
19, 22, 25 & 28 October: Harpa – Reykjavík Concert Hall
200 tickets are available for each of the Iceland Airwaves shows and will be given out to wristband holders – first come, first served – on the day of the show. Additionally, all of those who have purchased wristbands for the festival can get tickets for the Björk shows on pre-sale, a week before the general public, at 12noon on 9 July.
