Björk, Patti Smith, Lykke Li & more to play Iceland conservation concert
The lines of Björk, Patti Smith, Lykke Li and more are coming together in aid of Icelandic wildlife.
The acts, along with Of Monsters And Men, Samaris, Retro Stefson and others, will play a special show in Reykjavík on 18 March organised by Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky‘s “Stopp – Let’s Protect the Park” venture.
The conservation concert will also coincide with a screening of Aronofsky’s new movie Noah. The Russell Crow-starring biblical epic was shot in Iceland in the summer of 2012 and great care was taken to avoid damaging the Icelandic environment during production.
All artists involved are donating their time for free and the net income will be donated to the Iceland Nature Conservation Association and Landvernd, and Icelandic NGO focusing on environmental issues.
