Björk opens up her personal emails with philosopher Timothy Morton to the public eye
Björk has revealed a cross-section of her personal email conversations with philosopher Timothy Morton.
Earlier this year, the Icelandic artist opened an exhibition at New York's MoMA, reflecting on her career in the music industry, and the myriad side projects that occurred during that time.
Alongside the retrospective, Thames & Hudson released a series of "booklets" together titled Björk: Archives. One of these detailed a three month email correspondence betweeen herself and Timothy Morton.
Speaking to Dazed, Björk said:
“ last year i reached out to the philosopher timothy morton to see if he would be interested to start a dialogue with me, to search for a definition of me and my friends’ stance in this world, which i felt his writing came very close to already. of course i’m still searching but this email chat of ours got pretty close and we shared a couple of coordinates trying to define what “ism” a pop musician from iceland would be ..... “
