Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat win Scottish Album of the Year
Bill Wells and Aidan Moffat have won the first ever Scottish Album of the Year.
Their album Everything’s Getting Older beat the likes of Mogwai, Rustie and Twin Atlantic to win the prize.
The pair were awarded the accolade by the Scottish Music Industry Association at a event held in Glasgow Film City last night.
Moffat spoke to the BBC after the event:
“It was a great shortlist. The Scottish Album of the Year Award is all about introducing people to a wide variety of different types music – the award is very, very important from an industry point of view too and we hope there are many more of them.”
The Scottish equivalent to the Mercury Prize, it follows on from the Welsh Music Prize as another of the home nations to start up their own ceremony.
