Glaswegian garage-punk outfit Sweaty Palms - one of this year's Play End Of The Road winners - kicked off proceedings at the Big Top.
Filling the tent with propulsive, ramshackle riffs and 10 tonnes of snarling disdain, the group rolled out plenty for the sizeable crowd to chew over - this was a sharp shock of noise that banished any hangover blues lingering on those in attendance.
The ensuing fracas sat in the same arena as IDLES' grittiest fare, Fontaines DC, Lice, and(/or) The Murder Capital. Dark, brooding, and exhillarating.
End Of The Road festival continues today (31 August) with sets from Low, Courtney Barnett, Kate Tempest, and more.
