Big Thief, Rosalía, Sharon Van Etten, and more appear on Barack Obama's end of year music list
Barack Obama has revealed his favourite songs of 2019, which features tracks by Big Thief, Rosalía, Sharon Van Etten, and more.
The former President of the US has continued to show his broad music taste over the past few years, with the likes of Kurt Vile, Poppy Ajudha, Courtney Barnett, Leon Bridges, and more making his 2018 year-end list.
Obama's 2019 list is just as surprising/impressive, with appearances from Big Thief's "Not", Maggie Rogers' "Burning", The National's "Oblivions", Frank Ocean's "In My Room", J. Cole's "Middle Child", and more.
Sharon Van Etten's "Seventeen" makes another appearance on Obama's end-of-year list, after being featured on his summer playlist in August alongside Rosalía's "Con Altura", Lizzo's "Juice", Beyoncé's "Mood 4 Eva", Koffee's "Toast", and more.
Obama has also listed Burna Boy's "Anybody", Bruce Springsteen's "Hello Sunshine", Young Thug, Travis Scott, and J. Cole's "The London", Summer Walker's "Playing Games", Kaytranada and SiR's "Go DJ", and more on his favourite songs of 2019 list.
Posting the list on Twitter yestersay (30 December), Obama wrote, "From hip-hop to country to The Boss, here are my songs of the year. If you’re looking for something to keep you company on a long drive or help you turn up a workout, I hope there’s a track or two in here that does the trick."
