Big Joanie announce second album with new single "In My Arms"
Big Joanie have announced their second album Back Home, and have unveiled a new single titled "In My Arms".
After returning last month with "Happier Still", Big Joanie have shared new single "In My Arms", the second single to be lifted from their forthcoming album Back Home.
Singer and guitarist Stephanie Phillips says of the new song, which is teamed with a Lydia Garnett-directed video, "At this point I was getting tired of living in London and dreaming about another life. It’s about knowing you should go another way in life but you end up dreaming about the road you’ve already travelled down even though you know it won’t take you where you need to go."
Back Home will follow Big Joanie's 2018 debut album Sistahs, and was recorded at North London's Hermitage Works Studios with producer Margo Broom (Goat Girl, Fat White Family).
Phillips adds of the album, "We were really ruminating on the idea of a home and what it means. It’s about the different ideas of home, whether that’s here in the UK, back in Africa or the Caribbean, or a place that doesn’t really exist; it’s neither here nor there."
