Beyoncé sends flowers to Robin S. after "Show Me Love" sample in "Break My Soul"
After Robin S. thanked Beyoncé for "giving me my flowers while I’m still alive" last week for sampling "Show Me Love" in "Break My Soul", Beyoncé actually sent flowers to her, and thanked Robin S. for "paving the way".
Last week Beyoncé returned with her first Renaissance single "Break My Soul", which samples Robin S.'s "Show Me Love" and features Big Freedia. Robin S. then spoke about the Beyoncé sample, thanking her "for giving me my flowers while I’m still alive".
While Robin S. wasn't speaking literally about the flowers, it turns out Beyoncé actually sent Robin S. flowers last week. In the picture shared on Instagram, Beyoncé wrote in the note: "Thank you for being such a huge inspiration. Thank you for paving the way."
Robin S. wrote in the caption, "Look at my gift that was just delivered, pls read the card! Two generations of Legacies coming together! Beyoncé you are now apart of MY Legacy and I am apart of YOUR Legacy. “Let’s ride the wave baby”! May you continue to be that beacon of light, that ray of sunshine and that hope for the generations to come! Always in my heart! ROBIN S."

"Break My Soul" is Beyoncé's first new outing since contributing "Be Alive" to the King Richard film soundtrack in November last year.
Renaissance will be Beyoncé's first solo album since 2016's Lemonade. She did team up with Jay-Z on Everything Is Love in 2018, and also released the soundtrack album The Lion King: The Gift in 2019.
