Beth Jeans Houghton is no more, say hello to DU BLONDE
Beth Jeans Houghton has retired her real name as the nom de guerre for her music; it's time to welcome DU BLONDE into the fray.
Speaking about the switch, Houghton explains her choice:
"This is a new sound, a new project. Du Blonde is a new incarnation and one step closer to me assuming my ultimate form. Having freed myself from the rusty and bloody shackles of Beth Jeans Houghton – both musically and spiritually – I felt it only right to step forth under a new name and let the rituals commence."
A debut LP under the DU BLONDE moniker is expected via Mute at some point this year.
Houghton will perform as her new alias on 20 February at the Roundhouse Rising Festival in London, and on 22 February at Tyneside's 6Music Festival 2015.
