Benjamin Shaw announces new record Guppy
London-based artist Benjamin Shaw has announced a new record called Guppy, and it's out next month.
It will be Shaw's fifth album in total, and will apparently have more in common with (mostly) instrumental offerings Rumfucker and Summer In The Box Room than his 'singery-songwritery' LPs.
Instead of a prominent barrage of arid wit, expect an exploration into texture, layers and experimental sampling, with field recordings and drone threads careening throughout.
Shaw has self-recorded, self-mixed and self-mastered the album.
The album is due out 13 July via Japanese noise label Kirigirisu, which is run by Neil Debnam (ex-Fighting Kites) and Kay Ishikawa (ex-Comet
Gain. You can pre-order it here.
It follows last year's Goodbye, Cagoule World, released last year on Audio Antihero.
