Belle and Sebastian, Mogwai and Young Fathers on Scottish Album Of The Year longlist
The Scottish Album Of The Year (SAY) longlist has been revealed, with 20 artists vying for the top prize.
Among these are indie veterans Belle and Sebastian, Mercury Prize winners Young Fathers and returning rock heroes Idlewild, as well as a slew of new artists causing commotion across the world.
The winner will be unveiled at the end of May; the awards ceremony itself will take place in June.
Last year, Young Fathers scooped the award with their release Tape Two. Speaking about this year's nomination, they said: "We’re in Arizona. Scotland seems a long way across an imaginary sea. It’s so dry here. Creating the best of anything is the result of a subjective decision but we’re thankful that there are people who think that of us, are willing to put their feelings on the line and say DEAD was a great album. We’re proud of it, too."
