Envelope-pushing label and collective Bedroom Community have announced a new remix album by English organist James McVinnie.
In 2013, James McVinnie released Cycles, a record centered around pieces by contemporary music composer and labelmate Nico Muhly, and commissioned and played by McVinnie. Whilst you could easily imagine those played in a church, remix album Cycles_1 is a glitchier, late-night affair.
Listen to the remix of "Slow Bitchy Organs" by Sam Slater, which takes the original reflective track and mutates it to something else entirely.
"Cycles_1" is out via Bedroom Community, pre-order on Bandcamp. Watch our session with James McVinnie, covering Philip Glass.
