Beach House announces new album Thank Your Lucky Stars, due out next week
Baltimore dream-pop duo Beach House has taken to social media to announce sixth full-length album, Thank Your Lucky Stars.
A short two months after the release of its critically acclaimed fifth LP Depression Cherry, the group has announced a new full-length album due out next week. A series of tweets from the band's Twitter initially confirmed the new album, and was followed by a more formal explanation on Facebook.
On the nature of the album and the abruptness of the announcement, the band says: "It was recorded at the same time as Depression Cherry, but for us, it's very much a different record. All of its songs were written after the DC songs. Along the way we realized that we didn't want it to be released in the traditional manner. Mainly, we just wanted our listeners to hear it first."
Thank Your Lucky Stars is due out 16 October, via SubPop (U.S.) and Bella Union (U.K./Europe).
Beach House are set to play our stage at upcoming festival Iceland Airwaves, with Battles, Kiasmos, GusGus, and Porches. also joining our stage at Silfurberg on Saturday 7 November.
