
BBC Radio 1 double down on rock music in new schedule update
BBC Radio 1 has announced a new schedule update for September, which features a new BBC Introducing Rock show, and a Future Pop show with The Saturdays' Mollie King.
In a new schedule update, BBC Radio 1 is doubling down on rock for Monday nights, with Alyx Holcombe hosting a new BBC Introducing Rock show from 1-2am, beginning in September. Daniel P Carter's Rock Show will also move to Mondays at 11pm, and Nels Hylton will host a new playlist called Radio 1’s Future Alternative, which starts from 2am after Holcombe's Introducing Rock show.
The Saturdays' Mollie King has also got her own BBCR1 show called Future Pop, which will take place on Thursdays from 8-10pm, and will see her focus on new/emerging pop artists from the UK and across the globe.
Also welcome to Alyx Holcombe who will present a brand-new show BBC Introducing Rock on Monday nights 1-2am!

Charlie Tee will also become the "first permanent female presenter of Radio 1’s flagship Drum & Bass Show", which will take place on Saturday nights from 11pm.
Jack Saunders' Indie Show will also shift to Sundays at 9pm, and Jeremiah Asiamah's Soundsystem shoow is set to move to Saturdays at 7pm.
