BBC Four to air Lou Reed documentary featuring Velvet Underground members, Thurston Moore, Debbie Harry & more
BBC Four have announced that they’ll air a special tribute to the late Lou Reed this coming Sunday (15 December).
The documentary, entitled Lou Reed Remembered, will feature interviews with those closest to the singer, including former Velvet Underground members Moe Tucker and Doug Yule, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore, Debbie Harry, Boy George and others.
A press release reads:
“With the help of friends, fellow musicians, critics and those who have been inspired not only by his music but also by his famously contrary approach to almost everything, the documentary looks at how Reed not only helped to shape a generation but also helped to create a truly alternative, independent rock scene, while also providing New York with its most provocative and potent soundtrack.”
Reed died of a liver-related illness on 27 October, aged 71 years old.
