BBC 6 Music Festival announces lineup [UPDATED]
Tyneside's BBC 6 Music festival is gradually unveiling its lineup throughout the day today (27 January), with Lauren Laverne announcing the names live from Newcastle University Student's Union.
The festival will take place at the O2 Academy Newcastle and The Sage Gateshead from 20-22 February.
There will also be a separately ticketed 6 Music Festival By Day in venues across The Ouseburn and Stephenson Quarter areas of the city, 11am-6pm on 21-22 February. That lineup will be revealed on 3 February.
Speaking about the festival, Laverne said: "I'm so excited that this year’s 6 Music Festival is taking us back to my home in the Northeast. It’s going to be an incredible weekend of music, not to be missed. The Festival is a celebration of the music and culture we and our listeners love so much."
