Baywaves make their stripped back debut at End Of The Road
If you went down to the woods today at the End of the Road Festival you were in for a good surprise. That surprise was Baywaves making their unplugged debut at a secret set.
Travelling all the way from Madrid on their first tour of the UK, the band were in superbly high spirits. If they had nerves about demonstrating the bare bones of their songs it certainly didn't show.
"Usually we’re not fans of doing acoustic or stripped back sets because we feel like our songs needed some work with textures, and maybe something with less instruments would be harmful for the songs," Fran Bassi told us after their performance. "We really enjoyed the process. We learned a lot, which is represented in the songs," Marco Lobera added.
Appearing at the festival as winners of the Play End Of The Road competition, the group relished every moment. "It’s our first time playing festivals this summer!" Fran exclaimed. "We’re used to being the ones to ask for festivals and stuff. For people to come and see us and say we’re good overseas, outside Spain, is amazing."
With bright plans for the future - "we’re going to think about a new EP. We have a lot of new songs," Marco announced - Baywaves have made a mark that's sure to last.
