Bath venue and staple of the West Country music scene, The Bell Inn is threatened with closure as the owners put it up for sale.
BBC report that a community share-offer scheme has been launched to save the venue situated on the city’s Walcot Street.
Many musicians, either from the area or who have played the location in the past, have come out in support of saving the venue.
Robert Plant called it “a crucial and integral venue”, while Peter Gabriel, Michael Eavis, Midge Ure, Portishead and The Vaccines have also voiced their support.
The campaigners have until 20 March to raise cash to save The Bell Inn. It’s currently on the market for £925,000.
