Badly Drawn Boy to headline Elliott Smith 10 year memorial concert in London
2013 marks the 10th anniversary of the tragic passing of influential singer-songwriter Elliott Smith, with a number of tribute concerts springing up to mark the musician’s life and music.
With U.S legs already set up in Portland, LA, New York and Austin, a London memorial show has also been announced recently, set to take place at Brixton Windmill on 21 October, the exact date of Smith’s death.
Badly Drawn Boy has been unveiled as the show’s headline act, performing his first London date in 18 months, with more acts and special guest to be revealed shortly.
Tickets are £16, on sale from Friday (19 July) here. All proceedings from the show will go to mental health charity Mind and their Creative Therapies Fund.
The show has been set up by volunteers and fans of Elliott Smith alike and has no connection to the No Name Benefit shows held in the U.S.
