A$AP Rocky hints that his new music will talk about his experience in Sweden
A$AP Rocky has hinted in a new interview that his new music will see him speak about his experience in Sweden.
Earlier this summer A$AP Rocky was arrested in Sweden on suspicion of assault. He was detained for three weeks in a Swedish prison before being released on 2 August.
He was found guilty of the assault that took place in Stockholm, but was given a suspended sentence with no extra prison time, and just had to pay damages.
Since being released, the rapper - real name Rakim Mayers - hasn't discussed his experience in Sweden at length, and has so far only dropped one new song, "Babushka Boi", in August.
In a new interview with Vogue, A$AP Rocky has discussed his plans for his upcoming music, "Right now I am working on, I would say, something that is highly anticipated because a lot of people want to know how I am feeling about the whole situation. Making music is fun. It’s always fun. In a way, it’s a parallel with fashion because I think the right key, the right silhouette, the right look - the right expression - can trigger an emotional connection: sometimes a nostalgic connection and sometimes an enticing connection with people."
When asked if the new music is coming to him, the rapper replied, "Yeah! Nothing’s really different except that I have got a lot of material to talk about. I just want to make good music."
In the same interview, A$AP Rocky shares a story of how he came to wear a headscarf, "So basically I was slap boxing with my auntie. And she has these long-ass nails. She slapped the shit out of me and scarred me for life. So I had to borrow her babushka."
