Ariel Pink and Weyes Blood team up for new EP, share lead single "Tears On Fire"
Ariel Pink and Weyes Blood have shared "Tears On Fire", the first taste of upcoming collaborative EP Myths 002.
The four-track short-player - the second in a series from Mexican Summer and Ballroom Marfa "that promotes collaboration between artists within the label crew and kindred musical spirits from outside the catalog" - was written and recorded in Marfa, Texas.
The pair have collaborated before, with Weyes Blood's Natalie Mering adding guest vocals to Pink's 2013 album Mature Themes and Pink producing Mering's collaboration with Drugdealer, "Suddenly".
The EP follows Weyes Blood October 2016 LP Front Row Seat To Earth and arrives ahead of Pink's next album - due "sometime 2017". Pink's been steadily teasing his next moves, and recently previewed new solo music.
