Are Radiohead releasing a new album or single tomorrow?

30 April 2016, 21:26 | Written by Laurence Day

A lot of mysterious signs are pointing to something Radiohead-shaped happening very, very soon.

UPDATE 1 May: Radiohead's web presence has been disappearing throughout the day. Their website is now blank, with tweets and facebook posts at zero. Thom Yorke's has also been wiped.

Radiohead have mailed a creepy new flyer to fans today, sending the rumour mill into hyperdrive. Its features the words:

Sing The Song Of Sixpence That Goes

Burn The Witch

We Know Where You Live

The industrious folk over at the Radiohead Reddit have been trawling for details, and have come up with an interesting post from 2007 by Thom Yorke, which features those same words, potentially as lyrics. There's also an audio teaser, apparently from '06, featuring a song called "Burn The Witch".

As well as that, tomorrow - 1 May (and/or 30 April) - is Witch Day/Walpurgis Night, a Northern European festival which often features bonfires and is believed to be "the night of a witches' meeting". It's also International Dawn Chorus Day on 1 May - Dawn Chorus is the name of Radiohead's recently registered company.

Lots of things have been stirring in Camp Radiohead, such as new live shows being announced and their back catalogue switching hands, and many fans believe that new music will arrive sooner rather than later.

Radiohead's last live performance was in November 2012, but have been steadily filling their diary with a slew of festival dates. Radiohead are headlining Iceland's Summer Solstice, Primavera, OpenAir St. Gallen, Lollapalooza, and more this summer.

The band's long-awaited ninth record, the follow up to 2011's The King Of Limbs, is expected to arrive this year.

Have a glance over a few pics of the flyers from fans below.
