It’s well known that Arcade Fire’s recent album Reflektor was born from inspiration drawn from Haitian music, and now the band are set to return to the Caribbean island for this year’s carnival festivities.
The Canadian group will play a gig in Jacmel on 21 February to mark the celebrations. The country is very dear to the band, with singer Régine Chassagne’s parents originally emigrating from there.
Meanwhile, Win Butler recently joined Pearl Jam live on stage at the Big Day Out in Perth to perform a cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World”. You can watch that performance beneath.
