Arca announces KICK boxset with new single "Cayó"
Arca has announced a KICK boxset coming in May and has shared new single "Cayó" to accompany the news.
"Cayó" is Arca's first new outing since releasing her surprise kiCK iiiii album in December, and arrives with a video directed by Albert Moya.
The song features additional production from Tim Hecker, and was originally premiered on Arca's 2020 Twitch stream DIVA_EXPERIMENTAL FM.
Arca says, "It’s about exploring self states, non-binary modes of relating of that which is ‘other’, creating new intersectional ways of mediating identity through exploring sensuality and heightened communion with the sensual embodiment of self."
On top of releasing the new single, Arca has announced that all her KICK albums will be released together as a KICK boxset next month.
She's also announced MUTANT, a digital webstore that will include clothing, technology and art. According to a press release, the first MUTANT releases will be "legacy graphics, Arca artworks, and album-related imagery", which are only available to pre-order across the space of a month.
