Anti-Theresa May track "Liar Liar" could be heading for a UK Number 1 this week
That actually-pretty-catchy Theresa May protest track "Liar Liar" is sitting pretty in the midweek charts - and could hit the top spot on Friday.
Captain Ska's, erm, ska jam has been steadily gaining ground in the past few days, with over 30,000 people downloading the song and more than 100,000 streaming it. Over 1,000,000 people have watched the video on YouTube.
"The success of this song shows people are fed up with this government of the rich, for the rich," say the London-based septet in a statement. "We’re overwhelmed with the support and our message is that people do have the power to change society if we act together."
Despite the BBC not being able to play the song on the radio - it would breach editorial guidelines on impartiality during the General Election period - tens of thousands of people have propelled the number to third place on 31 May ahead of the final reveal on 2 June.
