Anna Meredith draws inspiration from works by David Hockney and Sol LeWitt in her new "Taken" clip
Anna Meredith has revealed her David Hockney and Sol LeWitt-inspired visuals for latest single "Taken".
The vid is inspired by "Hockney's Joiners collages and Sol LeWitt's photo collections". Director Ewan Jones Morris says: “It's about how life repeats but is never exactly the same. The track felt domestic to me, so I wanted to examine everyday things in a repetitive framework."
Meredith adds: “I’ve been a long term fan of Ewan’s work and knew he’d come up with something really special for this track! I love the many angles on the same thing approach throughout the track - really chimes in with how a lot of my music works.”
The track appears on Meredith's fantastic debut record Varmints, which is our very deserved Album Of The Week.
Varmints is out 4 March via Moshi Moshi.
