Anna Calvi is feeling "creative" and won't wait five years to follow up Hunter
Catching up with Best Fit at The Great Escape in Brighton, Anna Calvi revealed she's feeling "creative" and won't leave it as long to follow up Hunter.
Five years separated Anna Calvi's One Breath album and last year's Hunter. Fans won't have to wait that long for Calvi's next record, as she told Best Fit, "I definitely won’t leave it as long. At the moment I feel more creative and ready to work on new material than I did after my second record."
During Calvi's recent European tour, the singer/songwriter was supported by a range of local artists. Speaking about whether she'd do it again, Calvi revealed, "I think it’s really important that we support each other’s work. It was really interesting for me because I got to find out about a lot of musicians and artists, and just talk to them about their process and how it’s all going for them. It’s just a great way to meet other artists, it’s been really fun."
Calvi is about to kick off her busy festival season, which means that new material isn't imminent. Speaking to Best Fit, Calvi revealed that she's a big fan of FKA Twigs' "Cellophane" release, "I thought that was really interesting and quite exciting. I’m always interested to see what she does because she’s very groundbreaking."
