Anjimile announces new EP with updated version of "In Your Eyes" featuring Jay Som
Anjimile is back with news of their upcoming EP Reunion, and has shared a new version of Giver Taker album track "In Your Eyes (Reflection)" that features Jay Som.
The updated version of "In Your Eyes (Reflection)" featuring Jay Som features string arrangements by Daniel Hart, and is the first taster of Anjimile's Reunion EP.
Reunion will feature three tracks, all of which are reworked songs from Anjimile's 2020 debut album Giver Taker. The collaborators for the other two tracks on the EP are SASAMI and Lomelda.
Pitchfork reports that Anjimile said of the EP, "The most exciting part of this project for me was giving the participating artists free rein to fuck around with my songs and make them into something purely collaborative, something special, and something new. When Daniel sent me his arrangements, they knocked me on my ass. They’re so beautiful and so interesting, and every guest vocalist on this record creates such a beautiful new world and a distinctive sonic palette. It’s been really fun and exciting to see my tunes re-interpreted, re-imagined and reconstructed by such powerful musicians."
