This angry driver parody response to Olivia Rodrigo's "drivers license" is spot on
Since November last year singer/songwriter Jax has been sharing parody versions of songs written from different points of view on TikTok, and her road rage response to Olivia Rodrigo's "drivers license" is spot on.
Jax, who released her new single "Ring Pop" earlier this month, has been spending her time during the pandemic building up a series of TikTok videos that are parody responses to huge songs written from different points of view.
She started in November last year with a response to "Stacy's Mom" from Stacy's mum's perspective, and most of her parody clips since then have gone viral.
One of the standout TikTok's from Jax is a response to the biggest single of 2021 (so far) - Olivia Rodrigo's "drivers license".
Rodrigo released "drivers license" at the start of the month, and it's currently at number one in the UK and US singles charts. The song, which broke Spotify's record for the most daily streams on a non-holiday song, has since prompted a huge amount of TikTok responses by fans, written from different points of view, including from Sabrina Carpenter's POV, the guy she's talking about in the song's POV, and more.
Jax's response to "drivers license" is one of the best yet. The viral clip sees Jax singing "drivers license" with reimagined lyrics written from the POV of the guy driving behind her. Jax sings, "Did she just get her driver’s license? / Cause I’ve been stuck behind her car / Driving three miles an hour / Staring at the same front yard / She could just pull over / Seriously, it’s not that hard."
As the frustration grows in Jax's parody response, she sings, "This is why I moved out of the suburbs / I'm about to snap / I have to be at work in 20 minutes / Or my boss will give me crap / Oh god now she's crying / I wish she'd start driving / [Horn] I have to pee / This is taking forever / Some people got places to be."
