Angel Olsen, Phoebe Bridgers and more to play Planned Parenthood virtual concert
Angel Olsen and Phoebe Bridgers are among the artists due to play Panache's Village of Love Planned Parenthood virtual benefit concert later this month.
Olsen and Bridgers will perform for the virtual event alongside the likes of Margo Price, Devendra Banhart, Brittany Howard, Mac DeMarco, Ezra Furman, Perfume Genius, Weyes Blood, Tenacious D, SPELLING, Kah-lo and more. The artists will play a variety of their own songs, as well as some covers.
As well as featuring performances, there will also be a raffle, silent auction, and a dance party room.
Proceeds from the virtual event will be donated to Planned Parenthood LA and NY.
Artist booking agency Panache have been hosting Valentine's Day benefit concerts in multiple cities for Planned Parenthood over the past eight years. This year's events raised over $40k, and the upcoming virtual event will mark the first time it's been hosted online.
As Rolling Stone reports, the organisers said, "Planned Parenthood needs our support more than ever. As we face an election that will determine the future of access to sexual and reproductive health care, it is vital that Planned Parenthood has the resources to continue providing care and expanding their advocacy efforts, including crucial outreach to get out and vote."
