Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars unite as Silk Sonic on debut single "Leave the Door Open"
Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars have joined forces as Silk Sonic, and have unveiled their debut single "Leave the Door Open".
After announcing their collaborative project Silk Sonic last week, .Paak and Mars have returned with their first Silk Sonic single "Leave the Door Open".
"Leave the Door Open" features production from Mars and D’Mile, and written by Mars, .Paak, D’Mile and Brody Brown.
Although "Leave the Door Open" marks their first official collaboration, Mars and .Paak previously toured together in 2017, and also worked on music with Nile Rodgers in the same year at Abbey Road.
According to a press release, the name Silk Sonic came from funk star Bootsy Collins.
Silk Sonic will release their debut album An Evening With Silk City later this year, which will follow .Paak's Ventura album from 2019 and Mars' 2016 album 24K Magic.
