AlunaGeorge among BRIT Awards 2013 Critics Choice shortlist
AlunaGeorge have been announced as among the acts shortlisted for the Critics Choice award at the BRITs 2013.
The R&B duo have been nominated alongside Laura Mvula and Tom Odell, with the winner unveiled Thursday 20 December.
The London pair spoke on their surprise nomination:
“We both feel incredibly honoured to be shortlisted for this award. Completely blown away, it’s a great feeling to have our music recognised in such a big way. 2013 is going to be an incredible year for UK music”
The BRIT Awards ceremony will be held on Wednesday 20 February 2013 at London’s O2 Arena, with James Corden hosting the night for the third year running.
For the first time, the trophy statue will be designed by Damien Hirst, following on from Sir Peter Blake’s design in 2012, and Vivienne Westwood’s in 2011.
